What is the treatment like and how are hand veins treated?
We treat brown pigment using intense pulsed light technology on the surface of the skin. This diminishes brown pigment and works to stimulate surface collagen that helps to smooth out the texture of the skin. This is followed by the use of Infrared light technology to stimulate deep collagen growth resulting in plumper, younger looking skin. Finally, protruding veins are injected so that they shrink.
When will I be able to return to my normal activities?
When hand veins are the issue, one hand is generally treated at a time. You will be required to wear an ace bandage for 24 hours after treatment. If the treatment just involves pigment and skin rejuvenation, no ace bandage is required and both hands can be treated together.
What kind of results can be expected?
Pigment on the hands will diminish by at least thirty to fifty percent with two treatments. If one wishes to continue beyond two treatments for pigment, it can be eradicated completely. Vein on the hands often require more than one treatment. It takes a couple of months for the veins to shrink in size.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is bruising. The brown pigment will get darker and look like toast crumbs and flake off.
