Smartlipo™ &
LaserBodySculptingSM

Smartlipo™ LaserBodySculptingSM is minimally invasive laser assisted liposuction. It is a revolutionary treatment that permanently destroys fat cells and improves overall body shape. It melts the fat and stimulates collagen production which then tightens the skin. Because of the use of laser, there is less bruising, faster healing and a shorter recovery time than with conventional liposuction.

How does Smartlipo™ LaserBodySculptingSM work?

A one millimeter cannula (or tube) is inserted into the skin. A laser fiber is introduced through the cannula delivering energy directly to the fat cells, causing them to rupture and drain away as liquid (lipolysis). At the same time, tissue around the area is coagulated resulting in less bruising, stimulation of collagen and an overall tighter skin tissue.

What areas of the body can be treated?

LaserBodySculptingSM is ideal for the neck, jawline, arms, bulging area on the back caused by a bra, abdomen, “love handles”, “saddle bags”, inner and outer thighs and knees.

Am I a good candidate?

LaserBodySculptingSM is not a weight loss tool. The perfect candidate is someone who is of normal body weight and has just one or two areas that will not respond to diet or exercise. In most cases these areas are easily treated by this technology. Because this procedure permanently destroys fat cells, no new fats cells come back to the area treated.

How does LaserBodySculptingSM compare to conventional liposuction?

Conventional liposuction is meant to remove greater amounts of fatty tissue. In conventional liposuction, there often is more bruising and a longer down time. Laser assisted liposuction causes less bruising, stimulates collagen production that in turn assists the skin to tighten up. Sometimes conventional liposuction will leave unsightly pockets in the skin. Laser assisted lipolysis can help solve that problem.

Is there a recovery period?

LaserBodySculptingSM is a minimally invasive procedure which usually requires only local anesthesia. Patients report minimal discomfort after treatment. Some patients have been known to return to work the very next day. A compression garment is worn for a short period after treatment, depending on the body area treated.

How long does it take to see results?

Some minor results can be seen within a week, with continued improvement over 2 to 3 months. Typically only one treatment is required.
