Titan™ + Plus anti-aging procedure is a therapeutic light procedure that tightens and lifts loose and sagging skin, particularly effective in the area of the face and neck.

What does the Titan™ procedure do?
This procedure provides for deep skin rejuvenation by tightening the skin of the cheeks, jowls and forehead. It improves skin laxity, and stimulates collagen growth through the delivery of light energy to the deep dermis of the skin. The results are the development of a more youthful complexion with less lines, folds and looseness of the skin. This is a perfect procedure for people who would like a “lift” without having to undergo surgery, anesthesia and lengthy downtime.
How does the technology work to improve the skin?
Titan utilizes a safe, infrared light energy to uniformly distribute heat to the dermis well below the skin’s surface. At the same time the epidermis or skin’s surface is protected through continuous cooling. This process positively affects the deep collagen responsible for giving the skin that “tight” youthful appearance by causing the existing collagen to contract and stimulating new collagen development.
The Titan™ difference:
Other technologies such as Thermage™ and Polaris™ using radio frequency make similar claims, as does Fraxel™ which is a more invasive procedure. It is our opinion, however, after researching a variety of options, that the Titan™ anti-aging procedure is superior for the following reasons: Unlike the other technologies, this procedure has little to no pain associated with it. Uniform distribution of heat provides for more “even” tightening with no lumps or bumps sometimes associated with radio frequency technology. The cooling component on the skin surface is more protective against skin breakage. Because this technology penetrates at a more appropriate depth, it positively affects deep collagen rather than ineffectively “boiling” the fat underneath. Finally, there is NO DOWN TIME with Titan™ treatment as compared to days down with Fraxel™.
What areas respond best to the Titan procedure?
Patients have been successfully treated on many areas of the body where skin is lax. “Drooping” skin along the jaw line and under the chin have responded particularly well to the procedure. Laugh lines are improved significantly. Cheek bone areas are tightened and raised making them more prominent. Eyebrows are raised. Marionette lines around the mouth are plumped out. Loose skin on the abdomen, back of the upper arm can also be treated.
Who can be treated?
Since the Titan™ procedure is heating tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of any skin type can be treated. Our office provides a complimentary consultation to advise you if the Titan ™ procedure is right for you.
How many treatments will I need?
When treating the face, we have two treatment protocols that we use with this technology. Both treat the whole face, but one is more comprehensive than the other. At consultation, it is decided which protocol is appropriate for you. This depends on the condition of the skin and the goals that are set. The more extensive protocol calls for 2 treatments spaced a month apart. The less extensive protocol calls for 3 shorter treatments spaced a month apart.

What happens after the treatment?
Are there any side effects? Immediately following treatment, patients often notice redness and some (not all) experience mild swelling in the treatment area. Both dissipate within a few hours.
When will I see results?
Some patients see a small improvement right away after treatment. The real results don’t happen for 6 to 8 months because this treatment stimulates collagen to grow and it takes some time.
What do treatments feel like?
With each Titan™ pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation. Some people feel discomfort in the temporal area, but the sensation is completely manageable and does not linger. It is over before you can even complain about it. There is absolutely no discomfort after the procedure.

Has the Titan been tested and approved?
The Titan™ technology has been carefully studied in clinics around the world. It is cleared for treatment of wrinkles in Europe and for general dermatologic use in Canada. In the US, it is cleared for topical heating to increase local tissue temperature and circulation. An additional 510(k) clearance is pending in the US for the treatment of wrinkles. Dr. White purchased this equipment in 2005. We have been extremely pleased with the technology and the outcomes of our patients who have had this treatment.
