Veinablation™

Effective Treatment for:

  • Ropy Veins

  • Varicose Veins

  • Spider Veins

Veinablation™ is a unique and revolutionary treatment for ropy varicose veins and spider veins.

Developed by Palmer H. White, M.D., a prominent vascular surgeon and vein specialist in Marin County California, Veinablation™ is one of the most effective vein treatments available today. It is simple, fast and effective, with 99-100% of ropy varicose veins collapsing in just one day. Spider veins are reduced by 60-80% in just one treatment. There is NO DOWN TIME. Patients return to normal activities almost immediately. With Veinablation™, surgical stripping and other less effective and more expensive laser procedures can be avoided.

What is Veinablation™?

Veinablation™ is a new definitive treatment for ropy varicose veins and spider veins of the legs developed by Palmer H. White, MD, a prominent vascular surgeon in Northern California. It is new, exciting and one of the most effective treatments for ropy veins available. It is not being performed anywhere else in the country.

ROPY VEINS

In the past, the accepted treatment protocol for ropy varicose veins was hospitalization and surgical stripping. Now, with Veinablation™, a special technique that uses laser and sclerotherapy, veins can be treated without surgery in the office, even the large ones. In the majority of cases, ropy veins collapse within 24 hours of treatment.

SPIDER VEINS

Veinablation™ is also extraordinarily effective treating spider veins, eliminating the need for multiple 10 minute treatments using sclerotherapy and/or less effective lasers. Veinablation™ can achieve 60 - 80% reduction of spider veins in just one treatment, with the remainder of veins eradicated with a short touch-up.

What causes spider and varicose veins?

Veins function to carry blood back to the heart. The blood in leg veins is able to flow upward, against gravity, by an intricate system of valves that open and close as the heart beats. These valves keep the blood from flowing backwards down the legs. When valves fail, the back flow of blood engorges the thin walled veins causing ropy veins and spider veins. This process can be aggravated by obesity, pregnancy, genetics and activities that require you to stand for long periods of time. There may even be a hormonal component.

What is the Veinablation Treatment Process?

At consultation, Dr. White conductes a vascular examination to determine and evaluate the nature of the problem. He then creates an individualized treatment plan designed to treat the underlying cause of the diseased veins as well as the veins themselves. Because of this, the treatment is not only more effective in eradicating veins, but it prevents them from coming back.

How can I determine if this treatment would be right for me?

You must be evaluated by Dr. White. He has been a vascular surgeon for over thirty years and has focused exclusively on the treatment of varicose veins and spider veins for the last seven years. At the time of consultation, he performs a venous Doppler exam. The results of this exam determine if you are a good candidate for the Veinablation™ procedure.

What kind of results can be expected?

It is essential to have realistic expectations. Almost everyone who walks in with ropy varicose veins walk out of the office after treatment with their veins collapsed. There may be some bruising and tenderness immediately after treatment that resolves in a short period of time.

Spider veins tend to look a little worse after treatment but begin to fade on average between 4 to 12 weeks.

Patients can anticipate up to 80% clearance of spider veins in just one treatment.  Routinely, there is NO DOWN TIME after treatment with patients being able to resume normal activity almost immediately.
